A Video for Booost Oxygen

Nationals and Rest

So last weekend was my last event of the year the National sprint kayak championships, the weekend really followed that of most of my other events this year, with me making final A of the 2nd category in senior men and then despite being in contention fading away at the finish. To tell the truth I am now happy to put this year behind me and after a few weeks break I will start my winter training and hope for the best next year.

Sunburn in Nottingham?

So last weekend was the latest of this years kayak national sprint regattas in Nottingham, normally a very windy and rainy affair but for once a very sunny one causing many including me to be subject to some painful sunburn. This was a first real chance to test out my new sponsor Boost Oxygen and their product. Unfortunately I was a bit off form and therefor the added oxygen in my system could only help me to mid field finishes, but I am now seeing an improvement in my early season results and with two months till my next big competition it is time to get my head down and really train hard and in any free time I can find watch the Olympics.

Eventful Day

So today (15th July) I raced my first quadrathlon; having trained for each individual discipline but injuries have prevented me form being able to do all four at once. The day started very well by leading the first two disciplines; swim and kayak; and good transitions to boot, unfortunately this was where my luck ran out with a string of problems first with my pedal cracking 500m into and 18km cycle causing me to have to basically pedal with just one leg, having to change my pedaling style to keep my balance caused cramp which ruined my run as well, then things got worse as I managed to lock my keys in my car and only after being rescued by my dad with a spare key did I manage to get home 4 hours after I would of expected, just to top it all off when I took my bike of my car I had somehow gained a flat tire on my way home, but an enjoyable day nonetheless.

First Sponsor; First Blog

Well, here is my first attempt at writing a blog, and my first attempt at welcoming a sponsor. So firstly a massive thanks to Booost for supplying me with canned Oxygen for the coming year, which will hopefully be a big year in both sporting and career terms. This coming week is also an important one for me, with a World Championship qualifier for Quadrathlon on Sunday, before my first exam on Monday as I get one step closer to becoming an Investment Manager. I've kept this first post brief; the rest of my year's plans I will save for a later date, but I'm hoping that it will prove to be a big year.
